For this activity, please brainstorm at least five ways we could support the people who are affected by the fires in New South Wales, Australia. You could think of ways to raise money, things to send them, and ways to keep them feeling positive.

Make a website where people can donate
Raise enough money to get food and water for people who have lost their homes
Make some cards to send over too people too keep the positive
Send blankets over for people to stay warm
Because it looks like there aren't enough firefighters we could send some New Zealand ones over or some from somewhere else

You have thought of some great ideas to help people affected by the fires in NSW. I think it is a great idea to send some cards over. I’m sure the people affected would love to know that there are children in NZ that are thinking of them during this challenging time. Perhaps you could suggest this to your teacher at the start of the year? You might be able to write some cards as a class! It is also a great idea to raise money and to send over supplies they may need such as food, water and blankets.
